Storms Of Life
Do you feel like you're lost at sea?
When life's storms arise, what is your typical response? Some people find themselves easily blown off course. Others become fragmented in their thinking, as doubt and fear plague their minds. They begin to wonder whether the Lord actually cares for them I think about what we are taught in this Scripture lesson.
adapted from Luke 8:22-25
One day Jesus said to His disciples, "Let's go over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, Jesus fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples awoke Jesus, saying "Master, we're going to drown, don't you care!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided and all was calm. Jesus asked, "Where is your faith?" In fear and amazement His disciples asked one another, "Who is this He who commands even the winds and the water and they obey Him?"
Trusting in God ...
Once the disciples understood that it was the Son of God who was with them in the boat, it did not matter how bad the storm was. God who created the land and the seas was in that boat. We need not fear what goes on around us when the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ is within us. Jesus will guide us through all our circumstances. One moment, our way may seem totally blocked, but then suddenly some seemingly trivial incident occurs, appearing as nothing to others but speaking volumes to the keen eye of faith. Sometimes these events are repeated in various ways in response to prayers. They certainly are not haphazard results of chance but that of Jesus opening the way we should walk, by directing our circumstances Put all your faith and trust in Jesus, for He has your life in His hand. Allow Him that control for He will never steer you wrong on a course and plan He has already set for your special and unique life.
Think about it ...
