Companions For The Journey
† Jesus said,"Where two or three come together in My name, there am I with them.† ~Matthew 18:20
I can't claim that for the most part I was raised in a loving and/or even a ' Christian home '. However having retained a very fond early memory of Jesus from attending a vacation Bible school at the young innocent age of four; I can and do acknowledge that it was the initial spark put into my heart that eventually would lead me to allowing Jesus to come in and make a ' real home ' in my heart.
Home is where the heart is or visa-versa whatever the case may be takes on quite a different meaning when one realizes some very important major ingredient is missing from one's family life. That doesn't mean our natural family and siblings do not love us but just possibly do not know how to really love each other because of what is still lacking inside of them.
That major ingredient is Jesus Christ and, often as the case may be, one can be left feeling totally alone and empty and not even know why. That is when we all need Jesus to begin a lifelong renewal process to make us a whole person again.
We must along our own way then forgive each one of them and ourselves for all the shortcomings and let downs, the lack of love, and maybe even the hate that comes between us and we must lay it all down at the cross. Then, and only then, can we move on and forward and reach out to help each other. Each to his own end we have a destiny and a purpose, and we must find our own way back to God through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
What I also learned in my particular case was that even though my family did not attend church regularly and although we did not talk about God, Jesus or anything spiritual; all that I ever really knew of Jesus for so very many years was what seed He { Jesus } had planted that was always growing inside of me waiting to come out now to be shared with other ' Christians ' in a very real sense.
I believe that we are to fellowship with one another and share the love Jesus gives us daily and to help each other along their own way as we all are on our own journeys in life. I too understand that life is not easy and for many of us it is so more than hard. Jesus knew and still knows all our hurts and pain and so much more than we can comprehend as He sees the bigger picture of it all.
We are but pilgirms on a pilgrimage to our eternal home and this life now is where we can learn much through all our circumstances and by the choices we make both good and bad. Heart knowledge then often is the best that can be shared from all we've experienced to help one another along the way.
Everyone has a story and something to share about the life they have led that may benefit someone who is struggling to find a meaning and a purpose to keep on going. Should we alienate ourselves from those in need? No we should not and Jesus is the example we should always show everyone we meet.
God never intended for us to walk through life entirely alone even when we do have Jesus as our most trusting and best friend we still need to fellowship with other Christian friends in our lives. God will further demonstrate then His love for us through these Christian friends He puts in our lives.
When we share with each other in a Christlike manner we are showing Christlike love for our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, and are becoming all together one with Him as His children of God.
Journey on today my dear friend and may Jesus fill any void in your heart with all His love. May you find renewed peace, hope and faith in knowing that He is 'always' there for you to help you and carry you along the way. Let it be then His Way and His Life for your life.
God bless you,
in Christ's love,
Hiker Dan
